After 17 years of music journalism, I've decided to scale back so greatly as basically quit.
This means two things:
1) The Web site will be updated
less often and the content will change and reduce. That also means there will
be less emails through this group
2) If you are in the habit of regularly
sending me CDs expecting a review, you can no longer expect one.
There are two main reasons I am doing this:
1) I need to devote more time more
time to my schoolwork in order to complete my Master's degree in mathematics
2)
My passion for radio (college radio and Internet
radio) has outpaced my passion for music journalism. As many of you know, I've
been doing broadcasting on the Web and AM/FM since the late `90s. Print and even
Web media has no comparison to the immediacy and audience connection provided
by broadcasting. I am currently involved with four Internet radio stations (check
out www.radio-freedom.com) and one
college station. Much of this site is going
to migrate to support my broadcasting efforts. If you are publicist, I do weekly
live interviews on one Internet show (check out the archive)
and I can and do promote tours passing through the Detroit area. I always send
out playlists. I hope as many of you possible will somehow be interested in what
I continue to do in broadcasting.
